Description
Intro to Philosophy is a semester-long course that covers many of the most central parts of philosophy, building a foundation for further study. The topics covered, in order, are Rhetoric, Logic, Ethics and Aesthetics, Metaphysics, and Political Philosophy, with special attention paid towards argument, dilemma, and philosophical history. The course requires a fairly strong command of writing, but there are no prerequisites or co-requisites, although this class does work well with classes such as AP English Language, English studies, and English Composition I. The class will require a fair amount of reading, largely of selected excerpts or chapters of larger works.
